Abbotsford, Sydney

Abbotsford is a stunning waterfront suburb of Sydney’s inner west, situated at the Northern point of the Drummoyne Peninsula. A great deal of the suburb is surrounded by water, with the Western side of the suburb bordering Hen and Chicken Bay, the Eastern Abbotsford Bay.

To the South and South East, Abbotsford is bordered by the equally beautiful Chiswick, Russell Lea and Wareemba. Abbotsford residents enjoy access to a number of waterside facilities, most notably the Abbotsford Sailing Club situated on the Parramatta River. Sydney siders from many suburbs, including the relatively far away students of Sydney High School, travel to Abbotsford to make use of the Sailing Club and rowing sheds.

Although it is primarily a residential suburb, Abbotsford has a few small shops and cafes located on Great North Road for residents to enjoy.

The Cadigal and Wangal people were the original indigenous of the Abbotsford area and the Inner West in general.
