Burwood is bounded by the suburbs of Five Dock, Ashfield, Strathfield and Burwood Heights, and is located only eleven kilometres out of Sydney’s central business district. Residents of Burwood have access to an abundance of city-bound buses, as well as the well-trafficked Burwood Station, making the suburb an incredibly well connected area.

There is evidence that the original inhabitants of the Burwood area, the Cadigal and Wangal people, lived there for at least eleven thousand years before European settlement.
