Carrs Park, Sydney
Carss Park is a small suburb in the St George region of southern Sydney, bordered by Blakehurst, Kogarah Bay, and South Hurstville. Carss Park is named after the Carss family, who owned land in the area in the late 19th century. Carss Cottage Museum in the Carss Bush Park was the original family home.
More recently, Carss Park has been the location of filming for the television series Packed to the Rafters, which is set in Carss Park and neighbouring Sans Souci and Oatley. The television series is actually set in Carss Park and not a fictional suburb.
Carss Park is the location of Blakehurst Public School, making the suburb popular with families; Blakehurst High School is also very close by, as is Mater Dei Catholic Primary School in Blakehurst.
Famous residents of Carss Park include the Russian-Australian boxer Kostya Tszyu, and the former Canterbury Bulldogs and Canberra Raiders player Bradley Clyde.
