Clovelly, Sydney

Clovelly is a small beach-side suburb in Sydney’s east, bordered by Bronte, Randwick, and Coogee. As of the 2011 census, it had a population of 4,581. Clovelly is located within Randwick City Council, and its postcode is 2031.

Clovelly was originally known as “Little Coogee” until it was renamed in 1913. Clovelly Beach is renowned for being one of the safest and smallest beaches in Sydney. Clovelly beach is also home to the first and oldest Surf Life Saving Club in the world.

Clovelly is mainly a residential suburb, and has a small shopping strip on Clovelly Rd. This suburb is popular with families, as it has two primary schools, Clovelly Public School and St Anthony’s Catholic Primary, and the beach is suitable for small children.
