Crows Nest is a suburb on Sydney’s lower North Shore, located north of North Sydney and between to St Leonards and Neutral Bay.

Crows Nest is positioned amongst the best amenities that the lower North Shore has to offer, being close to several hospitals, schools, and transport. Most notably North Sydney Boys and Girls Highs, as well as other North Sydney private schools. Since it is located with Pacific Highway running through the centre of the suburb it is well positioned for public transport, having access to North Sydney train station, bus services and St Leonards Station.

It is a primarily a residential suburb, with a prominent strip of shops and restaurants along Alexander Street and the Pacific Highway. Though in the surrounding suburb of St Leonards there is a large amount of commercial businesses including Toyota, IBM and Macquarie Media Group just to name a few. The population of Crows Nest is over 4,000 with the majority of the population aged between 25 and 39 according to the census of 2011.

Crows Nest was named by Edward Wollstonecraft in 1821, who built a cottage called Crows Nest as part of his land grant which stretched from present day Crows Nest to Wollstonecraft.  Crows Nest developed quickly in the last quarter of the nineteenth century, after ferry and tram services were extended to the lower North Shore area.
