The current population of the suburb sits at around 4,000 people with the majority of the population of English heritage.
It is mostly residential, and many of its houses are heritage-listed and listed on the National Estate Register. One of its heritage-listed houses, Craigend, was built in the Moorish and Art Deco styles in the 1930s, and has featured in several movies. Likewise, St Marks Anglican Darling Point was used for the filming of Muriels Wedding, as well as the first wedding of Elton John.
