Maroubra, Sydney

Maroubra is a beach-side suburb in the southern half of the Eastern Suburbs. In the 2011 census, its population was 29,594. It is the largest suburb in Randwick City local government area by both geographical size and population. Maroubra is well-served by public bus transport but has no train line, like most suburbs in the Eastern Suburb area. Maroubra has a relaxed surf culture which is centred around Maroubra Beach, one of the largest beaches in Sydney. Maroubra Beach is listed as a National Surfing reserve, and is often used for surf competitions and beach cricket competitions.
