Narwee is in the St George area of Sydney, and administered by Canterbury Council. Narwee is surrounded by Roselands, Beverly Hills, Riverwood and Peakhurst, and has a population of 5,021. Narwee is a quiet family area and has one primary school, Narwee Public School, and several kindergartens/preschools. It is also close to high schools such as Beverly Hills Girls High, and independent schools such as Regina Coeli School in Beverly Hills.

Narwee was originally known as Bob Gardner’s Farm, after the convict settler Bob Gardner, who was given a land grant in the area. It was also used for deer hunting by visiting Englishmen, who released deer into the area. Narwee was known as ‘wild and difficult country’ and therefore ideal for hunting and also as a hiding spot for bushrangers, due to the inaccessibility of the area and the lack of population.
