Oatley, Sydney

Oatley is a quiet family suburb in southern St George. It is bordered by Peakhurst, Hurstville Grove, Mortdale, and faces Como across the Georges River. Oatley Station is the last station before the train line crosses the Georges River, and Oatley is not actually subject to much through-traffic so it is relatively isolated and quiet.

Oatley Park is on a peninsula and is a very diverse habitat. It is one of the largest parks in Sydney and is host to nearly 150 bird species as well as echidnas and wallabies. Oatley has many other parks including the Oatley Pleasure Grounds, established in the early 20^th century by Harry Linmark. Water sports such as sailing, canoeing, and swimming generally are very popular in Oatley on the Georges River. Oatley is also host to many different sports teams including Renown United and Oatley Rugby Club.
