Rozelle is a beautiful and dynamic residential suburb of Sydney’s inner west. Located just four kilometres out of Sydney’s central business district, the suburb is considered a highly desirable area to live. Rozelle is nestled between lively Balmain and Lilyfield.

Residents can easily stroll to Balmain’s commercial strip on Darling Street, which has numerous bars, restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. Rozelle is named for the nearby “Rozelle Bay”, which locals in the Nineteenth Century named after the many Rozella parrots found there. The area has many landmarks, perhaps the most notable of which is the old tram depot.

Here, many trams and coaches dating as far back as the nineteen thirties stand in an old shed. Over the past decade they have been vandalised and graffitied, but nevertheless the depot is an impressive site.

The original indigenous inhabitants of the Rozelle area were the Cadigal and Wangal people of the Eora nation.
